Dive Hin Daeng & Hin Muang

Hin Daeng - Krabi

Hin Daeng Marine life

Diving Red Rock, Krabi

Hin Daeng (Red Rock) in Krabi derives its name from the colouration of red tree soft coral that decorates the dive site and is one of the top five dive sites in Thailand. It’s also sadly the furthest destination from Ao Nang, but it is possible to complete a day trip via speed boat. Travel time is approximately two and half hours. The dive conditions can vary and the area can be prone to strong currents. Trips to the dive sites of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are not on a set schedule but upon request only and subject to sea/weather conditions.

Whale Shark, Krabi

With its incredible amount of marine life no diver will be upset. Groups of Round Batfish, Great Barracudas, Big-eye Trevally fish, colourful surgeon fish, Trigger fish, Angel fish, butterfly fish and Moorish Idols are all common. Beautiful tiny Nudibranchs and Ghost Pipefish can also be found here. This dive site is also well renowned for larger visitors such as Rainbow Runners, Tuna, Whale Shark and also Manta Rays.

Hin Muang is the one of the most beautiful dive sites in the Adaman Sea and suitable for experience divers or deep dive training only.

Hin Muang lies 500M to the west of Hin Daeng. The name translates as Purple Rock which comes from the coloration of the tree soft coral around the rock. Hin Muang is a submerged reef approx 60M deep and soars up to 8M above the surface.

Reef Shark, Krabi

This dive site holds an amazing amount of marine life. Leopard Sharks are often seen resting on the eastern tip.  White Tip Reef Sharks have also been seen here from time to time. Trigger fish, Barracudas, Snappers, Groupers, Trevally, Giant Moray, Lions fish, Puffer Porcupines fish and a lot of colourful fish like Angel fish, Moorish Idols, Oriental Sweetlips, Box fish are common here too. Look carefully in the coral for Boxer Shrimps and Ghost Pipe fish. Again there have been many sightings of Rainbow Runner, Tuna, Whale Shark and Manta Rays at Hin Muang.
